You are invited to attend the Spokane Hotel Motel Association’s special meeting on Thursday, March 5th at 4:00pm at the Quality Inn Valley Suites. This meeting is being called to specifically inform all hoteliers (members or not) that the City of Spokane Valley Lodging Tax Advisory Committee is putting forth a motion to Council recommending that the City of Spokane Valley Lodging Tax be raised to the maximum rate of 12 percent, an increase of 1.3%, “to be put into a fund dedicated for a large sporting venue or venues for tourism facilities that generate overnight guests”. This item could be on the Council agenda as early as March 10th, so time is of the essence.
We want to hear from you! Our agenda will include a brief overview of the lodging tax in Spokane County so everyone can understand how we’ve gotten to this point. We will share our recent experience in raising the tax in the City of Spokane and we will provide an open forum for you to voice any concerns and ask questions you may have. Please bring your questions and comments so that we can provide answers or do appropriate research to do the same.
Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org with whether you will be in attendance or not. If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to email or call.
